Aims of Newark
- To develop the skills, capacities and capabilities of young people to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals
- To advance education and relieve unemployment
- To provide recreational and leisure time activities to improve conditions of life
- To act as resource and point of contact for young people
Newarkâs Objectives are to:
- Provide a secure and safe environment (After School Club/Youth Club) for young people to play, socialise, experience, learn and achieve with other young people, without the fear of crime, bullying and violence
- Provide information, advice and guidance to young people on education, employment, training, drugs and alcohol, crime and violence, sex and relationship, healthy living and other issues affecting young people
- Organise regular structured football coaching/training sessions and league football for young people
- Enter local, regional, national and international football competitions so young people experience travelling, meeting people of different backgrounds and communities
- Organise football tours and non-football related tours and educational visits in the UK and abroad
- Provide volunteering opportunities at all levels within the organisation, thus learning to take on responsibility and developing their skills
- Deliver sports related and all other types of projects for the wellbeing and benefits of young people
- Use older service users to act as role models to guide and support young people into adulthood
- Establish efficient and constructive networking with other voluntary organisations, schools, statutory agencies and other professional and private bodies
- Sign post young people to all relevant support agencies especially for jobs and training
