Health and Wellbeing

We deliver health & Well Being workshops to young people on a regular basis these include sports diets for our young sporting stars, health programs for parents and how to adopt a healthier lifestyle in general.
Our aim is to use sports to adopt a healthier way of eating and generally how both of these go side by side and can used together to gain a healthier lifestyle.
Newark work with key stakeholders to tackle the National Obesity levels of young people. We work with NHS and other partners to deliver specific projects around Healthy Living. We have delivered projects for local RSL’s (Residential Social Landlords) so their residents can improve their lifestyle. We have also had workshops where young people get to try health foods instead of the usual fatty foods. This provides them with a life experience which they may not always choose; we provide a healthier food option after exercise or on match days and at our clubs. Newark has influenced key stake holders in the council to change and restrict planning permissions for local Fried Chicken outlets
Newark also works with local partners and the NHS to inform young people and support them with issue around Smoking and Sexual Health.
