Newark Football

Newark Youth London has a history of developing footballing talents and promoting them to mainstream football. We have been setting trends for local teams to follow. We were the first Asian/Bengali team to play league football in 1988 – Abbey Gauge League. This opened the door for other local teams to play league football.

We were first team to go on tour on a tour in 1994 to Bangladesh. This again opened the door for other teams to travel and play football in different parts of the world. We were first team to develop a youth team. Again others have now taken this idea on board. Newark U6’s youth team won the first SNC youth league and many of the players have gone onto playing for Sporting Bengals.

We are keen to support players to make it to mainstream football. We have been instrumental in setting up Sporting Bengal and are keen to support the team. Every year Newark has 5-6 players playing in the Sporting Bengal first team. Last year 2 players played in the FA Cup.

We run structured coaching sessions and have a number of teams playing at various leagues at different age levels. We also enter many local, regional and national tournaments. Currently we have the following teams playing during the winter and summer season:
