Newark is enrolled on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme. This allows young people to receive an achievement award in recognition for their hard work. The award is given to not just the best player or highest goal scorer but to young people who have shown courage, commitment, determination & progress during a period of time. For example; most improved player or a young person who has successfully completed a number of courses overcoming difficulties.

The award recognises these people’s achievements as well as those who are generally good at what they do. We sometime fail to recognise these people’s achievements and tend to go for people who usually perform better all the times e.g. top scorer. This is an ideal award in line with the charities ethos & represents what we are trying to achieve.
As part of the Award young people decide on how they would like to spend their award. For example watching live premier league football; team building nights and more.

In 2008 Newark has been awarded the highest award, which is Gold Award, which means that every month a young achiever will be recognised; along with this a Leader Award is also awarded.
The Leader award is where Awards are given to adults who have demonstrated, in an outstanding way, an ability to encourage and motivate young people aged 11-25.
